original post (fanedit description was added later):
Hey guys,

this query was in regards to Building Empire, but since I couldn't find a topic for it (the link on FE.org points to nowhere), I figured I might as well ask here...

I've downloaded the recently released DL Miami version of Building Empire; for a total of 109 parts. However, when i try to extract them, the parts with odd names
(BUILDING_EMPIRE-PAL-MIAMI.par2 ; BUILDING_EMPIRE-PAL-MIAMI.vol007_08.par2... ) just won't extract... :-(
I get an error message from 7Zip : "those files cannot be opened as an archive". As a result, I only get the bare film, and no extras and DVD menu.

What did I do wrong, guys?
Thanks in advance!

Actually, the version that you downloaded has only the extras.
That release would extract just fine without those .par2 files.

If you want the DL Miami version WITH extras, you need to download the one that I merged together.
I uploaded it to MU and called it "Miami Version Complete."

It contains:

1. Building Empire DL PAL DVD - Miami Version - I used the Building Empire documentary video from this version. This DVD has the latest version and best video quality available but it had no extras whatsoever.

2. Building Empire SL NTSC DVD - I used the DVD_ROM folder from this version - since only this version had it. The DVD_ROM folder contains the following stuffings:

ESB Radio Drama
ESB 'Story Of' Album
Mark Hamill 1979 Audio Interview
DVD Covers
Video Extra

3. Building Empire SL PAL DVD - From this version, I used all menus and all the extras that were in the VIDEO_TS folder.

I actually put together files for those that want to add all the extras to the bare bones Miami DVD without downloading the whole thing again.
I can PM you the links for that option.

that sounds good! I'll have a look.
I hope it' not too troublesome to add the extras to the existing video_ts folder of the barbones "Miami" version...

thanks a bunch for the quick response anyway.

It's quite easy and I included simple instructions :)

I forgot to PM you the links to what's in the DVD-ROM folder of the NTSC release so I'll do that now

Above, I mention that I assembled a Building Empire Miami Version Complete which is DL PAL.
Nothing was re-encoded and was a simple merging of various sources.

I have now re-encoded and assembled 2 more DVDs - a SL PAL and a SL NTSC.

Both leave the audio untouched, were deinterlaced, sharpened, adjusted chapter points and encoded progressive.
The original DL PAL Miami Complete is interlaced.

Links should be up at info soon

Screen Caps:
DL PAL - Nothing re-encoded and interlaced

SL PAL - Deinterlaced, sharpened, adjusted chapters and progressive.

SL NTSC - Deinterlaced, sharpened, adjusted chapters and progressive.

NTSC DVD is now available via Mega on fanedit.info.

Just a heads up, part 15 of the Mega links went missing, but it's back now.
