Most new users don't bother reading our rules. Here's the one that is ignored almost immediately upon signup: DO NOT ASK FOR FANEDIT LINKS PUBLICLY. First, read the FAQ. Seriously. What you want is there. You can also send a message to the editor. If that doesn't work THEN post in the Trade & Request forum. Anywhere else and it will be deleted and an infraction will be issued.
If this is your first time here please read our FAQ and Rules pages. They have some useful information that will get us all off on the right foot, especially our Own the Source rule. If you do not understand any of these rules send a private message to one of our staff for further details.
Michael Newman, best known as the only member of the Baywatch cast with legitimate lifeguard experience, has died aged 68 after an eighteen year struggle with Parkinsons'. In addition to his lifeguard duties, he was also a firefighter and was on duty throughout the duration of the show through to his retirement from public service
Phil Lesh has died. Founding member and bass player of the Grateful Dead. I spent some time with him in the 80s when I was dating a relative of a band member and he was always genuinely nice to me. He also sat in with my BIL’s band several times.
Such a long, long time to be gone
And a short time to be there
Quincy Jones has passed away at the age of 91. An absolute legend of a music producer, composer, and more. Working with the likes of Frank Sinatra, to Michael Jackson (including Thriller, the best-selling album ever), to numerous compositions of his own for both album and film - including the Austin Powers theme of all things, he leaves behind a massive and successful legacy.
He had a hand, either in writing or directing, of so many comedies such as Airplane, The Kentucky Fried Movie, The Naked Gun (and the original Police Squad show), Top Secret, and both Hot Shots films.
His work has given me so much laughter over the years, and I think especially Airplane and Naked Gun will continue to be standouts of the genre for decades to come. His legacy is immortal.
That's no way for a man to die. A parachute not opening... that's a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine... having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that's the way I wanna go!
