FINAL TRAILER

As things are slightly delayed by final polishing and quality control checks by the 12 of us, here is the final trailer to wet your appetites one last time before THE RED APPLE CREW drop season 1 on you all.

All the episodes are now effectively locked. One is still recieving some music work, a few are fully completed and passed multiple QC passes by many editors, and the producers, including the mighty @spence. The remaining episodes are being glitch scrubbed, again, and again....AND AGAIN.

As soon as we are completed, we will make our submission.

Untill then a heads up...you will (as per the rules) need to own all 10 Tarantino movies in HD quality (non-subscription downloads, Blu Ray, 4K or equivalent) to watch these edits...so if you have any gaps, now is the time to fill those spaces in your shelves (or DRIVES).

Enjoy the final tantaliser...

Holey Moley this looks exciting, can't wait to see the approach amongst all the collaborators. I absolutely love the Cowboy Bebop-esque style to the creators in the first trailer. Sign me up!

UPDATE
QC on the outstanding episode is near finalised.
Every episode has had at least 4 sets of eyes on it, and most have been reviewed by the entire crew… plus the producers ( which include two additional fan editors).
A final review is underway, so not long left folks.

Stay tuned!

Can't wait to see it all come together, sounds like one of the most all-encompassing projects the site has seen in years.

Fingers crossed I can get an invite to the next party, would love to collaberate in something of this scale!

We will be honored to have you!

Watched @Wraith episode eight "Hateful Eight" this morning!

Absolutely gory glorious! An incredible distillation of Tarantino's 3 hour epic down to one hour plus change!
A truly amazing narrative achievement. I am completely jazzed to check out the other installments in the very cool fan editors collaboration project.

Whoever designed the Tarantino Tales opening titles, my hat off to you! Great work!
And using Pat Williams' The Streets of San Francisco theme was a truly inspired choice.

THE TARANTINO TALES - SECRETS REVEALED 01
TRAILERS AND OPENING TITLES

So, now that the cat is out of the preverbial bag, I'd like to share some of the things you WON'T find in the changes list of the listings.

TRAILERS & OPENING TITLES

Way back in Feb 2023 as the project got underway, all the editors were asked to submit 6 shots from their chose assignments which would be used in the TRAIELRS and OPENING TITLES.

Each duly complied, and I assembled the gathered material into thepieces you can find on this thread.

Additionally a dozen shots were added in, once the supplied shots ran out. The sequences were previewd by everyone, and refinments to them, their timing and positions refined. A few shots dropped, and a few added. Later, as the dits changed, a few shots that did not appear in the final edits were also removed, with one or two exceptions since they work so well...and we have all seen trailers containing material NOT in the final release...Now you know why THAT happens too...

Each trailer had a bespoke 90 secs mix of each music piece created as well...same for The OPENING TITLES.

The brief was agreed...by THE CREW
..funky, cool 70s TV series vibe...!

Trailer 1, the music was actually suggested by MRS WRAITH. Crew approved!
Incredibly, I had access to the 24 track masters of that piece, (which is over 7mins long)...BUT, it had no natural ending. Fortunately, a Live concert version DOES have a big finish, so the challenge there was to create a mix from the studio 24 track that would blend in with the LIVE version. As such, only 12 of the track stems were used, and the segue to the big finish was achieved.
Thank you MRS WRAITH for the suggestion.

The brief for the remaining trailers was, well...MORE of the same BUT DIFFERENT...LOL...
Each tells a different story about this collaboration...each has a distict FEEL...none mislead the viewer...and the final one, tells you a little about how much work went into this project.

So, music work asisde, these TRAILERS and OPENING TITLES are yet another examlpe of the truly collaborative effort that has gone into the RED APPLE CREW: SEASON 1 EVENT SERIES - THE TARANTINO TALES.

I invite the rest to THE CREW to share whichever insights into their process they think viewers might enjoy reading about that are NOT covered in the CHANGES list.
