I would strongly suggest you watch the season three final episode.

The series is brilliant and it often masterfully subverts audiences expectations in fresh and entertaining ways.
 
By Rao! That was an incredible two episode premiere.
And not in a heroic, cheering crowd sort of incredible.
But in a dark, deeply emotional and powerful sort of incredible.
I shed a lot of tears during this opening two hours.

This is the Arrowverse at it's finest. It reminds me of those early seasons of the OG shows, where anything seemed possible.

Will Superman stay dead? Probably not. But then again, with this show, and being the final season, anything is possible.
It would be certainly be a brave and bold narrative choice.
Regardless, I think it is going to be a memorable journey.

 
4x03 "Always My Hero"

Another hero falls.
And I am left a blubbering mess.

 
Superman lives!

Another solid character driven episode. With this one, a bow is put on the Chrissy & Kyle storyline.

4x05 "Break the Cycle"

A solid Luthor character exploration episode. Guest starring and directed by Elizabeth Henstridge.

 
4x06 When The Lights Come On

By Rao! Another excellent episode.
Luthor goes darker, more unhinged, leading to a kick ass showdown with Clark!
Another Brainiac name drop!
oh, and loving the Smallville subplot where it seems everyone knows Clark's secret.

 
4x07 "A Regular Guy"

This may be one the best explorations of the Superman character ever. EVER.
The price of keeping "The Secret" has been touched on before in other Superman (and Supergirl) incarnations, but never to this depth or this intimate.
And this episode has perhaps one of my now favourite Superman scenes ever done.

We also get some fun nods to Reeve era movies.
And we finally meet this version of Jimmy Olson.

I have re-watched Episode 7 three times now, and I pretty much agree with everything in this video.
One of the BEST Superman stories EVER.

...and yes, SPOILERS...

 
4x08 “Sharp Dressed Man”

Guest starring Tom Cavangh!
Sadly, not as a Wells.
But his role is equally delicious!

We also finally meet Milton Fine aka Brainiac.

Luthor dons his modern look, clean shaven and billionaire three piece suit.

We also get a Gus Gorman name drop.

And Clark gets some bad news.

All in all, another excellent episode.
 
4x09 "To Live and Die Again"

The penultimate episode!!!!

Luthor descends further in revenge fueled madness.
Lois desperately searches for a way to stop Lex.
Clark tries to prepare Jon and Jordan for the battle to come.

A tension filled hour with an emotional cliffhanger. Fantastic stuff!


Okay, THIS trailer made me pull out the tissue box... 😭
 
4x10 "It Went By So Fast"

With that, the Arrowverse era has come to a close.

And what a way to go out!
Epic. Beautiful. Bittersweet. Hopeful.
