Visions and Brundle Fly A DF fanedit of David Cronenberg

The first DF trilogy of 6 movies of David Cronenberg.


I start with Visions and Brundle Fly.

Visions  (The Dead Zone) is for me a real masterpiece
The book of King was great but this movie with an outstanding Chris Walken really put the hook in me
Great acting also of Martin Sheen as Greg Stillson

Cuts are coming up


Brundle Fly  

The Fly of Cronenberg is of course one of my favorites
I made already a edit called "Fusion" of this but that was a extended cut
I put the Baboon scene in it and some change in credits and that was that

But now i do something different

At the moment i have a workprint of 75 minutes, of course also with the Baboon scene
So a lot faster this cut and more to the point with the experiments of Seth Brundle

The cuts are coming up  in the next update

  The cuts of The Dead Zone  (Visions)

  Workprint is for now 65 minutes

- Alternative opening  (begins in 1988 with the preparation of killing Stillson)
- Smith in classroom and walking in school is cut
- The accident of Smith is trimmed 
- Some dialogue with dr Sam Weizak is trimmed
- Sarah visiting John is trimmed
- Sarah visiting John is his Father's house is cut
- The scenes before helping Sheriff Bannerman is cut
- Helping Bannerman is trimmed
- Weizak visiting John is cut
- Meeting the father of the boy Chris is cut
- Some dialogue with the father is trimmed
- Meeting Stillson in the fathers house is cut. (John Smith meets Stillson is this cut for the first time in front of his house)
- Credits are cut (new credits)

  The cuts of The Fly    (Brundlefly)

  Workprint is now 75 minutes

- Dialogue between Brundle and Veronica is trimmed
- Driving to Brundle's place is trimmed 
- Playing the piano is cut
- After the test with the stocking (trimmed) the dialogue is cut
- The relationship and dialogue between Veronica and Statish Borans is for the most parts trimmed in this cut
- Wearing the same clothes scene is cut
- Buying clothes for Brundle is cut
- Scene in cafe is cut
- The scene with Brundle and the fly in the telepod is trimmed.  (Dialogue before that)
- Walking too cafe and taking back the hooker is trimmed
- The nightmare scene is hospital is trimmed
- Visiting doctor for abortion is trimmed
- Credits are cut - new credits

- Added scene:  The baboon sequence

Well, that's it.

I must put them together with music and credits but as a whole its fine with me

In the original Veronica trys to bring out the story of Brundle's experiments
That is not in this cut, she recorded Brundle and let Borans hear it (only because of enthusiasm after the experiment) but he doesn't believe it
In this cut it looks like that Brundle is searching for a assistant who record his work and progress and then to create a story with it
So Borans is more on the background in this


In the next update i give the total running time and when it's ready.

Some finishing touch and this edit is done
A total running time of 140 minutes this first DF of David Cronenberg

I used very little music overdub in this because the music of Kamen (Dead Zone) and Shore (The Fly) is outstanding, so it's good as it is

The release is in the second week of May

Other releases done:

Robocop:  Black & White edition:  (first week of May)
