Joker was a good film but a bit drawn out to feature length. “Groucho Marxist” collects the best parts of Joker into a quick, concise story. Excellent cutting and re-ordering of scenes throughout. Arthur’s descent happens much more quickly, which the re-ordering of scenes explains. Much higher pace than the original. All subplots (that I thought were unnecessary) were cut. Great new opening. This edit kept in character development, and was not just plot driven, despite being under 45mins. The ending credits gave the edit a political message, which I felt wasn’t needed.
The only scene I would’ve not cut was when Arthur gets jumped at the beginning, as it explains how his sign was lost, and why he gets a gun, both of which are referenced in this edit.
Overall, I highly recommend this edit. I am often biased to shorter, higher paced films so I really enjoyed this one.
