I first watched this movie when I was around 14 years old, and it has always held a special place in my heart. Back then, the internet wasn't mainstream, and hacking seemed like a distant fantasy. As a kid, the movie felt somewhat realistic. However, rewatching it later in life, it came across as clichéd and cringeworthy.

Futon88 has done an outstanding job with this 56K upgrade. The pacing, visuals, and music are all vastly improved. It almost felt like experiencing it for the first time again. This is the second fan edit I've ever watched (the first was an edit of "Mirrors" years ago), and it has certainly left me wanting more.

Excellent seamless edit
subtle changes didnt jar and cut the most cringey lines

didnt really notice the music changes as much as id expect but that just goes to show they were on point.

I have watched the original Hackers two times, once when I was a kid and once when grown up for nostalgia reasons. The movie always had a base to earn a spot in my annual or just rewatch collection. What didn't sit well with me in the original was the movie pacing and visualisation of "actual hacking" segments which were borderline epileptic and diverted your attention from the main plot in a kind of hypnotic way that I had a feeling of watching another movie. Futon88 made a faster-paced movie by just rearranging some scenes and made hacking visualisation so simple and effective that your attention isn't diverted from the movie at all, but kept in it,
This edit finally made this movie timeless for me, I highly recommend it and thank you for the effort futon88.

Man what a fun watch! The change list is enormous and somehow the movie keeps all of its goofy, cheesy, 90's-ness! I literally thought myself "god was that really what being cool was like 30 years ago?" haha

The best thing for me was the music. I counted 10 different changes but then looking at the list it was 18! The music was so well done, fit so well, was so smoothly added, it really impressed me.

I finished the movie with this big goofy smile on my face remembering when silly movies like these were the coolest thing on HBO on a Friday night. Thank you for making me nostalgic for the old days.

As soon as the Massive Attack song kicks in the first scene in slo mo, man, you feel you're in good hands and oh boy did it deliver! Alright, the original movie had plotholes and goofy-af holes, and this masterfully crafted edit gets rid of most of them holes and paves a new road to enjoyment :) The only downside at times is, the vocal track gets muffled every now and then by the newly added music tracks, not always, but for us nerds slightly noticeable. NOT a deal breaker whatsoever.
The movie is clearly clearly better and you'd be remiss if you didn't want to watch it.
Mess with the best, die like the rest!! ;)
Amazing time spent with this edit, fully recommendable!
