----

The third film in my set of Harry Potter extended editions. Certain deleted scenes have been incorporated that were not added back to the TV versions, or scenes created from other content to allow for the inclusion of a deleted scene. For OotP, all but 1 of the deleted scenes that have been released with the Blu-Rays have been reincorporated into the original movie.
Intention:
The intent of this project was to create a complete set of Harry Potter extended editions that mimic the versions seen on ABC Family/FreeForm, but are not exact duplicates. Certain deleted scenes have been incorporated that were not added back to the TV versions, or scenes created from other content to allow for the inclusion of a deleted scene.

Editing Details:
Order of the Phoenix was the third of the HP films that I approached editing. This one had the challenge of recutting the Umbridge montage scene, which meant learning how to remove music from a clip and put my own music in its place. The end result is an extended scene that shows a full interaction with Professor Trelawney, which I think adds to the film. While the clips that are added to this movie are short, there are elements that I feel add to the movie. I hope you enjoy the end result as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
Cuts and Additions:
- All deleted scenes have been added except for Trelawny's eating scene while Umbridge speaks during the Feast
- Added scene of Neville sticking up for Harry, saying they had stopped taking the Daily Prophet
- Added extended Common Room scene showing activity (modified music so the clip doesn't sound so empty)
- Recut the Umbridge as High Inquisitor scene to remove the Trelawny clips. Music modified.
- Added in the full scene of Umbridge evaluating Trelawny in class.
- Added scene of Slytherin boys hazing another student as Umbridge/Filch watch.
- Added clip of Filch trying to blow out Umbridge's hair after the Weasley fireworks in the Great Hall
- Extended scene of Umbridge, Harry, and Hermione in the Forbidden Forest
- Added scene of Ron trying to get Harry to go to the feast after the death of Sirius
- Added scene of Harry going to Dumbledore's office

Order of the Phoenix Theatrical Cut is pretty low on my list of Harry Potter movies but I think the changes made by JJPotter helped it rise up quite a bit. I think extended editions work so well for Harry Potter because pacing is slightly less important and you moreso just want to exist in this world for longer with these characters. The extended bits, especially all the students having a great time in the Griffindore common while Harry sits alone, help to emphasize Harry's isolation. The deleted scenes that have been added back in help fill out the world and explain certain characters motivation. My only big criticism is Snape's iconic "obviously" during one of the montages is edited poorly and the audio has issues which wrecked that joke during my watch through, small but noticeable. Great work otherwise.
