Synopsis:
After being held captive in an Afghan cave, billionaire engineer Tony Stark creates a unique weaponized suit of armor to fight Jeff Bridges.

As the first Iron Man film has been airing on FX as an extended cut with deleted scenes for years, I figured I could make a HD version of it, so we don't have to wait for it to come on TV.
Intention:
As there are only a few official extended cuts of MCU films (IM1, IM3, SM: FFH and SM: NWH), I thought it would be interesting to recreate this version of the first Iron Man film, since it's relatively unknown. I was able to get my hands on an original DVR recording of this cut after hearing about it for years.

Other Sources:
- Iron Man: 2008 Blu-Ray
- Iron Man: Deleted Scenes
- Iron Man: FX TV Cut
Release Information:
Digital
Editing Details:
Some of the deleted scenes are available on the Blu-Ray, so I was able to use the FX Cut as reference to edit them in, but the short scenes in the cave were exclusive to this cut, so I had to upscale and colour correct to fit them into the Blu-Ray.
Cuts and Additions:
- added extended ambush on the military convoy, with Tony trying to fight back briefly
- added extended sequence with Tony gambling (badly) in the Caeser's Palace casino
- cut Tony getting waterboarded by the Ten Rings but replaced with...
- added Yinsen pretending to hit and yell at Tony after he disobeys the Ten Rings
- added Tony getting woken up and escorted outside
- added Rhodey getting talked to by his commanding officer, as he embarks to search for Tony

Yet again another simple edit that expands upon the narrative of the theatrical version; the only thing that I don't like is the replacement of Tony's torture scene with Yinsen pretending to hurt him for disobeying the ten rings, as the latter scene isn't as powerful as the former, despite giving his character a bit more of spotlight, but that's just me (not only that, but as we cut from the movie to that alternative scene, the video quality is noticeably inferior to the rest of the film).

Otherwise, it's a technically impeccable work and if not for that personal preference, is just as good as the theatrical version; I don't think it's going to replace it for me though, but as always good job, Bobson.
