Review Detail

The cuts were seamless and I really felt like they told a different story, just by moving different parts around. I went back and watched the original movie to see what was missing and what went where and I was surprised by how much fluff there was, and how easy a lot of the movie was to remove without changing the story too much. Very impressive vision, and well executed!

As much as I hate to say it because I really like De Niro, cutting back on Louis throughout was a smart move. While I appreciate his character, it felt like his entire arc was "show up, get high, shoot someone, get shot." Much tighter results here and I'm really happy with how he plays out.

The new soundtrack is really cool, really well done, and it gives the movie a more modern feeling. It almost made me feel like it was set in 2015 instead of 1995 (especially the Adele at the end). Even if you prefer the 70's feel of the original, these are some fun choices!
