Well this is surprising I did not expect to love this edit as much as I do considering I have seen one other Fan edit of Man of Steel. (Wakeupkeo) While both these edits seek to do the same thing making this divisive take on Superman more in line with the character, Wakeupkeo edited out far more of the film and adding in a scene his cut ran at 1hr:45min while this roughly 2hrs. This edit isn't as invasive but a lot of what Keo did apply here: no Superman spearing a truck, minimizing damage as much as possible, a reworked krypton opening. and leaving Superman's yell out at Zod's death worked better. The edits are pretty seamless with great flow though I wish the Lois kiss was left out.
The biggest difference though was on the score TM2YC reworked Hans Zimmer score emphasizing a lot more of the hopeful theme in Hans soundtrack, half the time yes the editor had two different audio tracks one for a more 'hopeful' Superman the other for a more 'heroic' one depending on your preference. This edit demonstrates how music can enhance a scene and make it more emotionally resonate part of the reason it took me so long to review this is because I re watched Man of Steel and this edit twice for comparison. I have to give praise to TM2YC editing the soundtrack is the trickiest part of a edit I'm told, but redoing the soundtrack twice must have been one heck of a undertaking.
This is a great edit of Man of Steel and I can see why many people recommend this edit it comes highly recommended.
