As a parody of 24, it's pretty solid. Obviously the gimmicks are used way more in the show than in this fanedit, in particular the time clock flashing, the split screens, the ticking clock noise.

I think if it wanted to move closer to parody it could have utilized those things more, but instead the edit uses them sparingly because as a "jokey" fanedit, it strives to be something more. So let's talk about the things I liked:

Up to the last 10-15 minutes, I was kind of wondering what the point of it was, sure it was edited awesomely and in the intense breakneck style of 24. But it wasn't really making me see these things in a new light, it was just making the climaxes to three very unenjoyable sequels more exciting than they had any right to be, which itself is a feat. But honestly I never felt the action was an issue (at least with X-3 and Spiderman 3, I abhor the FF movies).

That was untill I hit the ending, matter of fact the ending was the best part, as the poignant moments overlap each other, the thematic relevance across all of them is shown (using silver surfer voice over to show this awesomely). In particular, the split screens are used to great effect for the more poignant moments at the end, showing the fallen heroes at the end. Only after seeing the ending, it felt like it fit and I really appreciated it as a whole.

There's very little you can do about taking three very separate movies and making an overlying story narrative, so I'm not going to give you grief on that, although there's glimpses of trying and it's intriguing to think about the nature of Galactus as a global threat affecting all these other situations, it doesn't really pull through in the end. Nonetheless, thematically, you hit the nail on the head, it's about sacrifice and making the right choice and I loved that you were able to cleverly show that here. On the other hand, you captured the spirit of superhero comics, they all have their own separate books and dealing with their own situations in their own little corners of the universe (that they all share), and you really show that here and get the excitement of reading multiple characters that usually would have nothing to do with each other.

There's a couple of things, yes, you're trying to make it seem like these happen concurrently and I get that, but if time passes on one end, time should pass in another movie. It was most noticeable to me as Sandman was pounding on Spidey while Venom held Spidey down. You cut to another film during the pounding and you cut back, and Spidey is still getting pounded, so he was just getting pounded the entire time? It's one of the biggest issues that bothered me.

I also would have liked to see more clock, I know it didn't test well and it haunted you after the fact. I'm just saying.

Overall it's very enjoyable edit.

I really liked this one, and even though I don’t watch “24″, that didn’t matter. I got the references to the series. I decided that I would watch this with my mother, who also likes all the movies used in the making of this one. This edit was fun and tied together well in the end. (I think it was Silver Surfer saying that everyone needs to make a choice that yielded the first “aha!” moment.) The only part I found odd were the Hulk scenes. I didn’t get the point of them being there, to be honest, and would love to know what the editor’s reasons were to put them in. But that’s a small niggle in an otherwise excellent project.

As my mother said at the end of our viewing, “well done, Jorge.”

it could be because i’ve actually never seen 24 (and never plan to…) but i didn’t enjoy this edit at all. the storylines never seemed to connect and my brain stopped caring about half way through.

clearly others enjoyed this a tremendous amount and perhaps one day i’ll smoke whatever it is they are smoking! LOL

technical quality was great, but entertainment gets a 1/5 from me.

2/5

Although the cuts from each individual movie where excellently chosen, as a whole the stories didn’t connect to each other in a meaningful way. This might be true to the style of 24, but haven’t seen much of the show since I don’t really like it. If only the stories had something to do with each other. Everything else came off perfectly.
Thank you. 6/10 (editing: 9/10)

First of all: wow!

Action filled Marvel packed suspense for 50 minutes. Thank you

Editing was superb, especially sound. It flowed so well, and the music is there, epic and evident in many scenes that shift characters, and yet there is no disturbance. Truly awesome editing.

I got the feeling that we were supposed to take this as an episode somewhere near the end of a season (perhaps even the last episode?), a season that we haven’t watched before. If I roll with that it’s all good. But the difficulty to follow what’s happening (as it seems to require one to have seen earlier episodes (or the movies then)) drops this just short of 5 for me, along with the fact that there doesn’t seem to be any interaction at all between the different story arcs (Im asking a lot!).

Editing: 5
Plot/story: 3 (as it is by itself, the accomplishment and planning of this must have been something extra, and the work on that is probably worth another 5!)

Great edit!

4 out of 5!
