Synopsis:
This feels like a bad superhero movie from the early 2000s, so I treated it as such and just focused on Milo's story. And of course the terrible post credits scene is removed.
Intention:
This movie is such garbage, but I love how much fun Matt Smith clearly had with his character. So this edit aims to keep the best of Matt's performance, and whittle down the rest of the movie as thin as possible.
Special Thanks:
Joseph Quinn for previewing!

Simple & effective. I didn't even notice the cuts and had to look at the changes section to keep up and see the goodies. Slick stuff. Morbius 2: It's Morbin' Time would've been real had this cut become theatrical. Can't wait to show this to my friends.

I'm gonna get right to the point. I'm absolutely blown away by how good this cut of Morbius is!
It's a relatively simply edit, but by removing what doesn't work (cheesy dialogue and a completely unnecessary detective subplot), Wakeupkeo has highlighted what really did work... Matt Smith.
The new opening cuts to the chase. No prologue showing Morbius capturing bats in South America before flashing back to his childhood. Now it opens on a trimmed version the childhood flashback to establish the characters before jumping forward to the present day story.
The cuts throughout are all pretty seamless, especially the removal of the "I am Venom" line, and the ridiculous sequence were Morbius scales a giant staircase while being recklessly shot at by police.
The police involvement is cut to a bare minimum, which allows the story to focus on Morbius' issues with his health and Milo's turn to evil. It can't be overstated how fun Matt Smith's performance is.
The theatrical cut had a pair of two of the worst post-credits scenes, which aren't missed at all in this edit. The movie now feels more like a one-off "Special Presentation," and is all the better for it!
It's not a complete fix, as it's still not a great movie at it's core. But Wakeupkeo has definitely made it vastly more entertaining movie!
