Brilliant adaptation as classic cliffhanger chapter!
Black and white rendering is not overly crisp, music syncs nicely to action.
Roger Ramjet did this a few years ago with a Raiders Of The Lost Ark serial.
This is absolutely stellar, however!
Would that the entire film could be given this treatment. Or at least add on some of the Avenger sections without the superhero manboy worship.
My only issue is that the narrative leaves me breathlessly waiting.
Hey, and where’s that retro Star Wars thingy, Rogue?

For SD it's as good as it gets. Mmmmm lovely grain.
Visual Editing: 10
Spectacular. Condensing all these scenes into one seemless flow was impressive. The attention to period details like the titles and transitions was very slick. It was felt so authentic.
Audio Editing: 9
So much work has gone into this. The SoundFX all felt vintage too. The music removal from dialogue isn't perfect at times but it's near impossible to get clean.
Narrative: 10
The edit was genuinely more thrilling than the original film and the condensed story was easy to follow.
Enjoyment: 10
I need more random serial chapters from Mr Rogue, even if they are standalone things like this. So much fun.

Once again a great retro style short edit by Rogue-Thex. Perhaps one of his best.
Everything is perfectly done to create the mood of old serials.
Very fun finish.
I just removed 2 points in "narrative" because the way Captain America "travels" through time is not "really" a time travel to me. But it's just nitpicking compared to the quality of everything else.

Hahahaha this was great. Loved the serial style. Ending was perfect. I almost feel like the beginning went on too long, and really the whole thing could have been shorter, but I understand it’s a serial and they’re a certain length. Anyway, super good job.

A brilliant short of Captain America: The First Avenger done in the style of a 1930's serial. I was captivated throughout, and I loved the twist in the last third and the cliffhanger.
Highly recommended!

A neat little fanedit that perfectly captures the feeling of a 1940s serial.
The last third was pure genius. Highly enjoyable

Rogue is a visual master, and his expert knowledge of all things retro astounds me. Having previewed one of is in-the-works edits (which is the single greatest silent film I have ever seen--yeah), I was excited for this and it does not disappoint. Told in the form of those classic movie serials of old, Cap America is a way better movie for it. Others have elaborated on the ingenious ending so I wont, but suffice to say its brilliant. A fantastic effort as always, and really should be a companion piece to the half-as-entertaining original. Great work!

Rogue gives us an outstandingly clever alternate version of this movie.
The character of Captain America was born out of the same era that gave us old-fashioned serials, and the movie itself captures the same feel. Rogue was able to use this style to his advantage, rendering the footage in black-and-white and replacing the modern score with something appropriate to the 1940s. The opening credits are particularly memorable; if not for the names (and faces) of recent stars like Tommy Lee Jones, there would be no way to know this wasn't authentic to the era.
Rather than trying to sum up all of the movie in 15 minutes, Rogue wisely (again) uses the serial format to his advantage, summing up everything to the point of the climax with title cards.
Fittingly, all traces of the romance between Steve and Agent Carter are gone. While romance subplots are common for modern movies, serials would gloss over these ideas, so Rogue does likewise.
I got a little tiny bit bored about 2/3 of the way through when I thought the story was going to end exactly like the original. But Rogue saved his most ingenious twist for the end, fully (and seamlessly) paying homage to the serials from which the Cap movie was based.
Rogue is a master of short edits; I've long been a fan of his Apollo 13 and Attack of the Clones Super 8 edits. He can now add this one to his increasingly impressive resume!
