Synopsis:
See is a criminally underseen AppleTV series, one of the more interesting and fleshed out science fiction stories I've seen recently.
I always though that the production was so strong on the show that it would've made a great movie, so I'm playing with that concept. Also, there was a bit of a stylistic shift between the first and second seasons, where a lot of very abstract ideas got sort of left behind in favor of a more action/adventure heavy show. Doing a fanedit of the first season in movie form can help line it up with the style of the rest of the show.

Intention:
Cut the first half of season 1 of See into a theatrical film.

Even with all the material removed, the narrative is cohesive and the story flows perfectly. It’s also a lot more focused and direct, so there are less secondary plot threads slowing everything down, just to go nowhere at the end.
Editing is spot-on and flawless.

I will admit I have never seen See the tv series as it seemed a monumental adventure to embark on so I put it off and put it off until I found these fanedits which felt to me hugely digestible and still hugely abstract but containing such strong editing and audio quality. This edit is a must watch for those who wish to watch See.

Thank you for putting this together great way to watch SEE. The movie takes a little to get going to point to the world they live in. Once it does get going it does not stop and must watch Spence 3 movies of SEE. This was great movie to watch. Professionally done. Great plot follow, sequence from one to another really smooth. Editing for your enjoyment. These 3 movies of SEE is a must watch for FANEDIT's.
These SEE edits could even go to theater. My wife enjoyed it! Great job Spence.

I've been wanting to watch See for a long time now then I came across Spence's edit. Since I didn't watch the actual show before this edit, I can't tell what has been cut and modified. But I've watched Spence's other edits so I can definitely say whatever he has done in this edit is probably for the good.
Now, as for this Chapter 1 Godflame, it truly felt like a feature film. The audio and video editing seems flawless since I didn't notice anything odd like any out of place transition or mix-ups. I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend to everyone as well. I really want to find out what happens in the show now and thats why I've started watching the second edit, Chapter 2 The Lavender Road as well.

As I have enjoyed all the Spence edits I have watched this one made it much easier for me to watch See. Why well I guess it was a little to esoteric for my feeble mind. My biggest grip has nothing to do with the edit. As I said I was able to get through this show because of the edit. It made so many things much easier to understand. My only gripe is watch people pretending to be blind and doing a lousy job of it. Be that as it may I will give this a 4 out of 5 popcorns on my scale. I always look forward to a Spence edit and will continue to do so.

I enjoyed this edit! The first half is a slow burn as the setting and characters are introduced, and I'll admit: It wasn't riveting, but it did keep me interested. By the halfway mark the story had found its feet and I was more strongly engaged with the characters. By the 3/4 mark the stakes were well-established, and I was locked in.
As this was a major edit in terms of material removed, the editor clearly had to walk a tightrope to retain all of the critical elements. I feel they were largely successful in this, though there were some moments where I felt I was missing something, so I've rated Narrative a little lower.
As for the technical stuff, I found absolutely no issues. All cuts and audio transitions were seamless for me.
Watch it for:
* An interesting take on post-apocalypse humanity that feels fresh.
* Strong performances by some lesser-known actors (Alfre was good, but also a little wasted, in my opinion).
* A reserved but impressively physical performance by Momoa, with some nice echos of his turn in Dune.
