While obviously not as a strong a film as Wrath of Khan or Voyage Home, I never had any issues with the original Search for Spock so I watched this mostly out of curiousity for what choices BionicBob had made with his edit. His restructuring of the scenes made perfect sense and I can totally understand the logic behind many of his deletions, even if I quite enjoyed the comedy of those McCoy scenes.

The two biggest improvements in my view are the addition of Horner music to the death of David and the Kirk vs Kruge brawl. Those scenes are definitely given more oomph from Horner's bombastic score.

If you had issues with Search for Spock, I suspect this edit will go a long way towards making the film go down easier for you. Looking forward to seeing what BionicBob does with Final Frontier, another maligned Trek entry that I never thought was as bad as its reputation,

Bionic Bob is doing greeat work once again. I wouldn't have changed the original but now I see the error of my ways. This may become my preferred version.

Bob takes out the uneven tone of the story and it flows much better. The rescoring of the music results in even more heart. I wouldn't have thought it could be better but it is!

I miss some of the comedy that didn't serve the final narrative but the best scenes are made better.

BionicBob's fan edit of "Star Trek III: The Search For Spock" is a well done reworking of the film. Through seamless edits and rearrangements, BionicBob has managed to tighten the pacing and provide a more dynamic viewing experience.

The editing work is top-notch. Transitions between scenes flow smoothly, with no jarring jumps or awkward cuts. If you're unfamiliar with the theatrical cut, you would never guess this was a fan project. BionicBob clearly has a deep understanding of the film and stellar editing skills.

Some of the best improvements come from the musical choices. BionicBob has added new emotional cues and rousing action themes that accentuate the drama and adventure.

By trimming certain sequences that are not relevant to the main plot, the fan edit succeeds in delivering a tighter narrative. The film's essence and all the important plot points remain intact. Scenes that dragged before, now move with more linear purpose.

For any Star Trek fan, BionicBob's take on The Search For Spock is well worth the watch. This is how you do a fan edit right!

What can I say for me Bionic Bob is the nostalgia king. As I watched and I realized it's been almost 40 years since this film was released. ANd I can say I watched it back then also. Watching the crappy bad video game looking 80s video screen graphics. But back then they were top notch. Trying to figure out what version of Shatners TJ Hooker toupee he was wearing. I always thought the first movie was ok, but they definitely got better when they went back to the "episode" style. The trims certainly help with the pacing and tightness. And just all the other memories as I watched. And the trailers great as usual. This will be a 5 outta 5 with some butter on the popcorn scale

Much tighter, better paced and the extra score and sound FX work make it more powerful for sure. This film had to follow TWOK and that was always going to be a tough sell but this edit gets it pretty damn close (and more so than TVH after this). It is now my default on Plex after years watching the original box set version.

Great work!
