A very enjoyable watch.
The first four episodes of Picard Season Three re-imagined as the first installment in a planned trilogy.
And it works great!
The pacing is solid and the new narrative has a clear three act structure. While I personally missed Worf, this edit clearly proves how unnecessary his storyline was to this portion of the arc. All the Worf and Raffi scenes have been cleanly excised.
All the intros, out-tros and commercial breaks have been seamlessly removed with some very well done audio blending and/or replacement. Though I did notice a slight audio level drop during the sequence where Worf's voice over had been removed and Seven finds the Changeling pot. Otherwise, I did not notice any other audio issues like pops or hiss.
The video picture quality is overall excellent. There was no noticeable compression or artifacting. A couple of times I thought I noticed some very brief, minor framerate stuttering. This may, or may not, be connected to where a couple of times, to my eye and ear, the audio would go out of sync ever so briefly. But nothing so significant that it detracted from my enjoyment. No flash frames or other technical issues to note.
Overall, for a first time fan editor, this is a very impressive debut.
I look forward to the next chapter in their proposed trilogy.
Thumbs Up.
