I really struggled through the Kenobi series, forcing myself to finish it despite not liking the characters or enjoying it much as a whole. Just like so many things in post-OT Star Wars it's far too bloated with unnecessary fluff and cringe, but there is still something like a decent core in there somewhere. Spence has done an excellent job with this cut, turning it into a really enjoyable 2.5hr experience that's mostly focused on Obi-Wan as it always should have been. The quality is great, and the editing seamless. Nothing but absolute praise on that front! Great work.

The reason I took points off my rating is that despite loving the beginning and ending, the second hour feels like it really drags on. I felt the tempo slowed down way too much, especially since the first hour was very well-paced, and the finale so well-executed. Hard to turn episodic structure into three clean acts, but I think a lot of Mapuzo, the Fortress, and Jabeem could be cut and still achieve what's needed while also maintaining more tension. There's only so much you can do with the source material ofc, but I'd love to see this story told with a runtime closer to 2 hours.

Overall though this is truly fantastic! I never thought I'd watch this story again, but this edit made me like actually like precocious little Leia and down-and-out Obi-Wan. Definitely how I'll be watching this going forward. Cheers!

Really good edit. Makes it to be what I thought the series should have been when I first watched it. Removed so much fluff from the series that really dragged it out and makes it run so much smoother. I like how he kept the same music in and didn't add any other star wars music to change the tone of the series. I didn't notice any choppy transitions or anything and it all seemed to connect well. I love this movie and it fits really nicely alongside the other movies. Visually it looked great. Audio was very clean. Reva's character was definitely better than in the series, but still not great, at least to me, but that's more a problem with the writers and not the edit. There were a couple short scenes I wanted to be kept, but I understand why they were taken out. Would highly recommend this edit.

Great job! Significantly improves on the original show and turns it into what it just should've originally been. Watched it in the middle of a 12-day Star Wars marathon and it feels completely natural in that context. It will likely be a staple of Star Wars viewings going forward.

This is an incredibly easy edit to recommend. As others have noted, this edit really takes the best of the series and turns it into an "all killer, no filler" experience. The narrative is cohesive and coherent, not just in the broad sense of the story arc, but also at the level of a given movement, and even within scenes. This edit shows a really good sensibility for visual storytelling as well, often adopting what feels (to me) like a "just enough" approach to convey a sense of internal logic to the story without sacrificing meaningful cues and information about what is happening at any given moment.

Very nicely done!

Spence has done an amazing job with this edit! I wasn't totally sure how a six episode tv series could be cut down to movie length, but Spence pulled it off masterfully. The story is more focused on Obi-Wan, Leia and Vader, so a lot things not directly related to them is cut. There were a few things from the series that I missed seeing here, but with the slight refocusing of the story I get why they were cut. All in all, this version of the story is great and I highly recommend checking it out, whether you're a fan of the series or not.

The editing was perfect and I really liked the inclusion of the Fox fanfare and the original Lucasfilm logo! Once again Spence shows why they're one of the best faneditors!
