Review Detail

This edit of Superman returns is a major step up over the theatrical version; by removing some of the wooden dialogues and moments, alongside adding deleted scenes and footage from the original Superman movie (greatly enhancing the connection to the Donner saga), the film flows immensely better.

Granted, the story is what it is and some slow moments are still present; plus I kinda miss some of the dialogues and scenes that are present in the base movie (Lois and Superman's conversation on the rooftop was a strongly emotional moment and the ER scene was powerful too).

Overall, this version greatly improves one of the most underrated Superman movies of all time, truly transforming it into the love letter to the Donner era that was meant to be; I only wish the above mentioned moments could have been spared from being cut, but overall I'm satisfied with what was done.
