Synopsis:
To create ten 60 mins Episodes from Quentin Tarantino's 10 films to date.
Intention:
The challenge in these edits is that the movie must be condensed into a hour long "episode". The upside is that it can be done as the editor of the episode pleases.
Pulp Fiction basicly consists of three narratives, which I at first tried to keep as a whole. Though that could maybe have been possible, ArtisDead had a better and more streamlined suggestion, keep one narrative.
I choose Butch's story, because in my expierence when people reference Pulp Fiction, they mostly reference Vincent and Jules. And so I wanted to highlight Butch's story, and also because it has a rather satifying ending in my opinion.

Tarantino Tales by The Red Apple Crew (600 minutes)
Release Information:
Digital
Cuts and Additions:
removed everything not directly connected to Butch.
restructered the different scenes a bit. Removing all the other scenes actually de-Tarantino'ed the movie a bit, so I tried to return some of that Pulp Fiction flavored chronologicy.
added custom acts, title cards and custom closing credits.
replaced the soundtrack under the bar scene between Marsellus and Butch with a new track.
moved the original bar scene track to Butch and Fabienne on the bed.
re-insterted some tracks that got lost on the cutting room floor by isolating Butch's story.
there's one track when Butch walks back home and one under the end credits.
removed Fabienne walking down the stairs to Butch on the chopper.
fixed a few audio problems present in the original soundtrack.

There were a lot of ways to tackle a Pulp Fiction 1-hour cut, and this I think this one is my favorite for the same reason the editor picked it: everyone always thinks of Jules and Vincent first. But Butch's story is really compelling, and you still get a lot of the classic Pulp Fiction stuff you love. It's done perfectly, too. Just enough restructuring to retain that signature non-linear Tarantino flow, and changes to the music that fit right in with the world. I loved it.

I enjoyed this edit far more than I thought I was going to because of all the characters and plot points I knew would be removed going in - BUT a story centered around BUTCH flowed seamlessly and made for such a great watch... From the opening scene selection prior to the opening credits to the music choices, restructuring/editing this was a great watch!!!

Fantastic work theomega...

Butch's story really fits into the 60 minute run time well. This edit is very clean and the title cards fit right in. The scenes are rearranged a bit to fit the narrative. This is a good way to split that story off and enjoy on it's own, as in it stay's on point with the movie in most respects. If that is what you're looking for you will really enjoy this edit. If you are looking for a total overhaul of Pulp fiction, this probably isn't what you are looking for. Very much enjoyed, thank you theomega.

"Edited review," it's been bothering me.

It's not a bad edit. It's the entirely of Butch's story. Rearanged to tell the narrative.

But While I did enjoy the story and I wouldn't put them down on their score, this wasn't like a new experience. It was like pulp fiction. The issue I think is because the decision to do just Butch's story. There just wasn't enough footage to cut anything out.

This is a perfect companion to wraith's Jules and Vincent cut.

What can I say? This edit is just fantastic, I'll start there.

I like Pulp Fiction, but I haven't seen it in many years. And after seeing this edit, I may never watch it again. I liked the original, but I love this. The Butch (Bruce Willis) storyline was always my favorite and seeing it and it alone, just perfection.

Great Work!

I loved it. Always wanted to see this film from one single perspective, but still out of order. Really well done. Much love to the editor here. RedAppleCrew is amazing.
