Synopsis:
An extended version of M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable including all the available additional scenes.
Intention:
Unbreakable is M. Night Shyamalan’s best film. Period. I will argue that point to eternity. The camera work, pacing, everything is brilliant.
There has been one extended version of “Unbreakable” but based on the description it appears five minutes of material was cut. I decided I wanted a version as complete as possible, so I’ve reassembled “Unbreakable” adding the deleted scenes to the theatrical version. The only thing I cut were the unnecessary text at the beginning and end of the film.
For this version I used an HD source from the Blu-Ray disc. The deleted scenes on the Blu-Ray disc were SD so I had to upconvert these for the AVCHD version. Obviously the footage won’t match due to poorer quality. I tried to get it the best I could though.

Sometimes scenes are deleted from a film because they're just not that good, and sometimes they're just deleted to quicken the pace and allow more showings per day. The deleted scenes for Unbreakable are just as good as anything in the film, so if you liked the movie already, there's more to love here.
The video quality for this is not stunning, but not bad, and everything is edited in tastefully with some fades and some quick cuts. At some points I couldn't tell what was a deleted scene and what was in the theatrical version, as I haven't rewatched this in forever. Are any of these scenes really necessary to improve the story? No. But none of them weaken it, and several are quite good (the date night faux pas is particularly rich). They do emphasize that this is a slower-paced film, but if you're watching it as a character study and not expecting an MCU film, that shouldn't matter much.
This is at least as good as the theatrical version, and I can recommend it without reservation for either an alternate way to view, or a bookshelf replacement. For me, the elimination of the cheap title and ending cards alone makes it feel better and more artful than the original release, so this gets my vote. I enjoyed this edit, although it is a bit weird having watched Glass seeing the deleted Unbreakable scenes used in that movie, and the poor quality they are in don't help.

I enjoyed several aspects of this fanedit. 1> Actual extended edition of Unbreakable, which I agree with the editor as the best MNS movie by far. 2> Blu-Ray source AND AVCHD is a sure winner for quality purposes. 3> Axing of the intro/outro texts.
Well executed and a sure replacement.
