Synopsis:
"Do not be afraid. My name is Indrid Cold. In a place this size, Equator. 300. 300 will die. Wait for me. I will return. I will see you in time."
Experience the most underrated film ever made, now cut to 73 minutes of tightly paced story. No more dragging scenes, no more melodrama. Just pure cosmic horror.
Experience the most underrated film ever made, now cut to 73 minutes of tightly paced story. No more dragging scenes, no more melodrama. Just pure cosmic horror.
Intention:
To greatly improve the pacing of the second act.
Release Information:
Digital
Editing Details:
My goal was to reduce the film to a maximum of 90 minutes. The first cut was 53 minutes long, but I realised I had removed a lot of the main theme (how to deal with grief). So, I added back some scenes to make the film more complete.
Cuts and Additions:
Color graded to black and white for moodiness. Two shots at the climax have red spots of color.
Cuts:
Everything up until John's car dying.
John and Connie joking about life in the town.
John receiving a phone call and going to the bathroom.
All scenes with Alexander.
Many minor cuts that I forgot to write down.

Wickedly underrated psychological horror thriller. The original film suffered from Its slow beginning and its low pacing, but this edit corrects these mistakes and gives us a movie that hooks you up from the first minutes. The black & white filter was wisely chosen, it accentuates the spooky sequences in a very efficient way. and emphasize the paranoid vibe and the claustrophobic atmosphere.
Big fan of the scene where Klein receives a call in his hotel room, it's one of the most chilling horror sequences I have ever seen.
Excellent film, which makes me miss the good times of psychological thrillers from the beginning of 2000, films like Suspect Zero, Identity, Emprise, The Cell. . . who had an X-Files vibe of their own.
