Blade Runner: The Penultimate Cut

Stunning work.

My first review. This was perfect. I haven't watched 15mm version, he had something similiar in mind with his edit, but its hard to imaging, that a retrograde of the final cut can be any better. I don't know what TM2YC did exactley, i dont know about all the little changes, but i was immersed in the movie like i was watching it the first time. and i have seen BR a lot of times. It feels modern and HD, while giving the feeling of the movie you remember from the 80ies.

The Video/Audio Quality is perfect, I love the fact that you can change to the old voice over audio as well. Generally a "whole" edit, it definitely replaces my final cut. I will give 15mm a try as well, but like i said. this was perfect.

TM2YC pulled off a masterful color grading, unparalleled. That alone should warrant a repeated viewings but backed up with abundant audio offering assembled here makes it a real treat to any Blade Runner fan. It may be called Penultimate but this enterprise is both educational and ultimate window into the world Philip K. Dick, Ridley Scott, Syd Mead and Vangelis gave us. Very much recommended.

TM2YC never disappoints, and this is no exception. It's a fantastic edit and what I've always wanted out of Blade Runner. Thanks, man :)

This is hands down my favorite version of Blade Runner now. After having spent 14 years with ‘The Final Cut’ I had gotten desensitized to the myriad of scenes that were darkened or washed out with aggressive lighting schemes, usually teal or blue-ish. No longer do I have to suffer through that with this masterful version. I won’t say that the original ‘Final Cut’ doesn’t have its own merits, but I’m a purist and prefer the natural color palette of ‘The Director’s Cut’ & older versions of the film. Pairing the superior color grading of these older releases with the ‘Final cut’ has resulted in a much better film that shows more of the liveliness and character of this dystopian world ; the color differences will have to be seen to be believed. It’s night & day, similar to how the Star Wars original trilogy kept getting distorted color gradings each release (I recommend 4K77 - ANH and 4K83 - ROTJ by Team Negative 1 for original theatrical colors). I’m ecstatic to have the version of Blade Runner that I thought existed, but has been obscured by lower resolution offerings. Brilliant work, thank you so much for your time & effort! Bonus is all of the optional audio tracks, I’ll make use of the isolated score when I want to fall asleep to the movie.
