The editor gave themselves a tough job... Take the 2 most disliked X-Men movies and make them one. Everything worked about as well as you could with these movies. It was interesting enough and a better ending than Dark Phoenix on it's own.
The reason I took off a point on Narrative and enjoyment are not due to the edit, but the source material. If you are even a little curious, it's worth a look.
