Watched this edit with my kids as the first time they’ve seen Wonder Woman. Highly enjoyable, flawless editing. Much more approachable runtime for a family movie, less expected utterances of the word “cringe” by my daughter. Overall, extremely successful edit with all stated intentions accomplished.
I personally would have preferred a small amount of additional humor left in, such as the double entendres in the “pool scene”. The scene feels incomplete without it. Cutting Diana’s “thank you” also seems unnecessary. I would have instead cut the latter half of the sleeping together scene and the repeat of Diana’s supposed origin on the boat as this is all repetitive even if Steve hadn’t heard it all before. These changes would be a great addition to the terrific cuts in the following London scenes, and they would do a great job of moving some of the dullest parts of the story along.
Everything else is perfect. This is a terrific edit and extremely additive to a movie that I’ve always enjoyed in the beginning but fallen asleep to by the end. Top notch visual and audio editing, it’ll be a great addition to the IFDB and the editing world will be a better place with more quality submissions from PanExis!
