Tremendously loopy fun all the way through. One of the great movies of all time, viewed through a funhouse (or, well, grindhouse, I guess) mirror. I won't spoil anything but the last five minutes are one of the greatest achievements in fan-editing I've ever seen -- a well-executed, hilarious and oddly poetic climax to a perfect ride.

Audio/Visual Quality: Always an odd one to rate for a grind house edit - picture was actually pretty good, considering the concept. I know that the picture and audio deteriorates during deleted scenes, but I believe this worked in favour of the edit and enhanced the experience. In fact, the only reason I give this a 9 instead of a 10 is due to the fact that at times I felt that the video quality was almost TOO good. IMO it wouldn't have been a bad idea to degrade the footage even more to match the quality of the deleted scenes.

Visual editing: Excellent. Jarring visual cuts are there on purpose and benefit the experience. Titles, SFX etc. are all wonderfully done.

Audio editing: Once again - the jarring edits work. The little jumps/repeats on certain lines are a nice touch as well as the odd added piece of dialogue.

Narrative: Well, it works, and I'm not complaining. There are redundant scenes, but then again - maybe that's part of the point? Pacing could have been better, and I wouldn't have minded some more extreme changes to some scenes, but all in all this is a beautifully degraded alternate version of the film.

Enjoyment: I enjoyed this. I'm not a big fan of the original, but I do like it, and this was a fun alternate experience. I loved what was done with Quints tale, and the ending - I was expecting a grand explosion (which wouldn't have gone amiss), but what followed instead was nothing short of brilliant. DVD was nicely put together as well. Lovely stuff.

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this years ago. Maybe it got lost in the switch to IFDb. Maybe I never posted it. It's entirely possible that it's sitting in a word document on my old computer. Maybe some day I'll find it and post it here. Maybe, but for now, you get this review!

It's strange. Jaws is one of my all time favorite movies. It's a truly great film that I love dearly. So it's strange, in a way, that I love this edit, even though its goal is to make the film much, much worse. Of course, that is the charm of it all, and I really appreciate what TMBTM has done here. the music, the usage of other films, it all works wonders to accomplish the goal of the edit.

If I have one complaint it is that the edit is too long. The pacing is not quite there. This really needed to be a nonstop great white thriller, but it's a little slower than that.

All in all, though, great work here. Also, this features the greatest ending to any fan-made-anything ever.

TMBTM's edits are really quite excellent, aren't they.

I rewatched Jaws the night before watching the Sharksploitation Edit, and was reminded why the original film is so brilliant. But then, along comes this crazy edit and pretty much turns the tone and stylings of Spielberg's masterpiece on its head to great effect.

Congrats TMBTM, this edit was great fun - MOAR SHARK ATTACKS! MOAR BLOOD! And the ending? brilliant work.

Been a long time since I saw this, but going back to give it the great review it deserves. It was super entertaining to watch with my friends and perfectly captures the 70s B-movie feel.

*I like the original Jaws, I'm new to grindhouse*. This was a fun watch. The narrative was changed enough to be interesting and the audio editing was seamless to my ears.
For the video quality, it felt a bit odd. I think it was pointed out already but my feelings are similar. The image degradation felt a bit too tacked on. Scratches on top of good quality footage was uncanny at first, but I got used to it... Maybe my reasoning is flawed but I feel like I have to take points down here.
Visual editing was good but I didn't understand the skipping and repeating that occured at times. Again, Im new to grindhouse but it felt odd to me.
Narrative was good and the changes made kept me engaged.
Enjoyment = achieved but not better than the original.
Overall, I appreciate the work that's been put into finding and matching all the new footage. It serve the new narrative well imo. And I think this what makes this edit so interesting.
Recommended for fans of grindhouse and big fish!

I rewatched the movie because I'm on the grindhouse bandwagon thanks to Gieferg.

The edit shows how sharp the line is between masterpiece & pulp. Directed by someone else and without Spielberg's amazing direction, the original film could have ended quite differently.

Great stuff - but some cuts (or missing reels) could have helped the narrative. It sometimes goes on too long and the pace is a bit slow. But everything else is just flawless - great editing, image manipulation and overall a great idea giving this masterpiece a grindhouse treatment.

Ideal viewing for a lazy Sunday afternoon!

'Jaws' was too scary for me but this Grindhouse masterpiece smooths off the cerrated edges of those teeth somewhat. Its the fan-edit U want to show someone who's been afraid of the water their whole life. Tell them they just need to put in some waterproof sports earbuds and even if the sharks are circling they will be bobbing away quite happily. With the right kind of groovy soundtrack playing of course. They will believe it seeing this.

Will be cool to see this remastered and upscaled and all that!!

By its very nature, very hard to rate the visuals + sound. Suffice to say it all works very well.
The added scenes + other films, all add to the experience.
The beach scene with the oriental lady was a work of genius.
Won't mention / spoil the ending, but adds to the experience.
In summary an immensely enjoyable experience.
